Oak Steakhouse Restaurant
Beginning November 2, Oak Steakhouse will begin Sunday Suppers, which will feature a menu of hearty Italian cuisine inspired by Executive Chef Brett McKee’s boyhood favorites, including many recipes from the chef’s mother. Sunday Suppers include an appetizer, dinner entrée, and dessert for $30 . Each week, the menu for Sunday Supper will change.
McKee thrilled Charlestonians when he opened Oak Steakhouse, a fine dining Italian steakhouse, in January 2005. Located in a beautifully restored 150-year-old building in Charleston’s French Quarter district, Chef McKee designed the restaurant to ensure a seamless aesthetic of food – uniting classic steakhouse fare with his favorite Italian dishes – and ambiance, which features thoughtfully selected appointments and vibrant artwork created by Charlestion area artists. Chef McKee’s menu, composed of traditional items such as Steak Tartare, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Porterhouse and New York Strip, appears to offer classic steakhouse fare. At second glance, it weaves Italian ingredients and techniques throughout.
The historical setting of Oak Steakhouse artfully blends Old World with New. Arched doors and windows, eighteen-foot ceilings, mahogany paneling and 150-year-old heart of pine floors are magnificent original design elements at Oak Steakhouse. The restaurant has five distinct dining spaces in the two-story landmark building, even providing an intimate table next to the former bank vault and fireplaces in two dining rooms. Locally commissioned artwork, custom designed chandeliers and intricate one-of-a-kind wine lockers are just a few of the features that make this one of the most distinctive dining spaces in the country.
