Sherman's Rock
On the eve of the burning of Columbia General William T. Sherman and his Union army set up camp on the Garden side of the river above the factory. A huge boulder, known as “Sherman’s Rock,” remains as a visible reminder of Sherman’s visit. This rock can be seen from the Garden’s Woodland Walk.
