Chapman Cultural Center
The Chapman Cultural Center is a three-building cultural campus bringing together the performing and visual arts, science and history in a variety of hands-on interactive exhibits, art and dance studios and an intimate 500 seat proscenium theater, centered around a public plaza. Designed by nationally acclaimed architect David M. Schwarz, the buildings contain interactive, hands-on science exhibits in the theme areas of "My Body," "My Backyard," "My Garage," and "My Neighborhood" as well as live reptiles and, of course, Chief the Turtle, in the Science Center; permanent and touring art exhibits in the galleries of the Spartanburg Art Museum; local and regional artist exhibits in the Artists' Guild Gallery; and interactive displays and exhibits focusing on Spartanburg's rich history in the Spartanburg County Regional History Museum.
