Aiken County Historical Museum

Housed in a former winter colony mansion, the museum displays items that reflect the county's history from the earliest settlers to the present: the Aiken County Room, the Nature Room, the Ergle Log House, the China Springs (one-room) Schoolhouse, the Savannah River Site Room, "I Don't Live Here Anymore" - a legacy to those people whose homes were destroyed to make way for the Savannah River Site, the Pottery Exhibit, the Winter Colony Room, the Golf Exhibit, the Public Safety Room, the Circus Room, the Hamburg/North Augusta Room, the Ladies of Aiken County Room, the African-American History Room, the Strom Thurmond Exhibit, the Willis Irvin Exhibit, the Equestrian Exhibit(s), the Odell Weeks Room, the Agricultural Room (Aiken County - once the asparagus capital of the world), our Military Hall Exhibit, the Gardens, the Transit of Venus exhibit, and Banksia - the house itself along with continually changing exhibits.
