Dye, Ben Wright, George Cobb, Willard Byrd and Jackson are among the golf-course architects who have woven their magic here. Player’s outstanding River Falls Plantation in Duncan is an outstanding area courses that each earned 4 out of 5 starts in Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play, 2004-2005.”
 
And the challenging Cobb’s Glen Golf Club in Anderson, Verdae Green Golf Course in Greenville, along with the Upcountry Golf Trail offers visitors outstanding golf packages for the region’s best tracks.
