Golf South Carolina: The official golf site of South Carolina

South Carolina dominated Golf Digest magazine's 2009 list of the 100 top public golf courses in the United States with 11 courses on the list. The highest ranked course was The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, ranked number four. Kiawah Island's Turtle Point ranked 48. Harbor Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island was ranked No. 13, while the May River Golf Club at Palmetto Bluff was ranked No. 22.

Seven of the 11 courses are on the Grand Strand, home to more than 100 courses. They are The Heritage Club (No. 33), the Dunes Golf & Beach Club (No. 38), Tidewater Golf Course & Plantation (No. 41), Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (No. 66), the Resort Club at Grand Dunes (No. 77) and a pair of courses at Barefoot Resort & Golf Club - the Fazio layout at No. 96 and the Dye course at No. 99.

With over 360 beautiful South Carolina golf courses from the mountains to the sea, “The Golf Capital of the South” offers challenging play in spectacular settings. Tee off on the famous Ocean Course on Kiawah Island or play in South Carolina’s Mountain golf region that traverses dramatic hills, scenic lakes and roaring mountain streams.

With courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Davis Love III and two of the “Top 50 Women Friendly Courses in America,” South Carolina features some of the world's greatest golf courses and hosts some of the most prestigious tournaments. Because South Carolina’s best golf courses are open to the public, you play where the pros play in the Palmetto State.

Golf Holiday information is available from United Kingdom, Ireland and German golf package tour operators.
